GREASE with John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John

IRULE #9 HE SAID SHE SAID – WOMEN AND MEN ARE DIFFERENT

Yes, women and men like similar types of fitness activities. Yes, women and men eat the same types of food however, there are clear differences related to our age, personal interests, what motivates us and levels of our personal self-esteem, that make what we like to do or not do specific to both men and women.

Olivia Newton-John is an amazing talent. Her ability to sing, dance, and act on camera, and be one of the nicest women in Hollywood, says it all. John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have different health and fitness goals because men and women are different.

Some research studies report the following: the universal adult motivator for men and women to exercise is health. For young women 16-25 it’s been revealed that health was the most significant reason for exercise, but for young men it was competition. Young boys 16-18 are equally motivated by weight gain as weight loss, but most girls want to weigh less or be lighter. Boys have less self-esteem issues with body dissatisfaction than girls. Adult women are more physically active through a lifespan than men, and women in hatha yoga classes demonstrate higher level of body satisfaction than women in aerobic classes.

So just like in the movie “Grease,” boys and girls, men and women, have different motivations and reasons to move. However, the overall common denominator is that we all want to look and feel good, even if it’s in our own mirror!
